Electric Robot and Son
Electric Robot and Son

We are proud to start the new year with our favorite robot duo. Electric Robot and Son were manufactured in the U.S.A. by Louis Marx in the 1950s. This is a large (150cm X 185cm X 265cm) plastic, battery-powered robot with unique coloring and appearance. Dad has a great clunky, but proudly smiling look, as he shows off his cute little robot toddler son, complete with robotic diaper.

Teruhisa Kitahara, in Robots: Tin Toy Dreams (1983) says: "Made in America in the 1950s this robot, with son in hand, turns its head and blinks its eyes. Baby wears a diaper. The shiny black and red finish is attractive and readily enhances this toy's overall quality."
