This tin and plastic toy robot was manufactured by Nomura in Japan in the 1960s. It is very similar in appearance to another Nomura robot called Robotank-Z. R1 is battery operated, 10" high, with flashing lights and shooting guns. It has a boxy, tank-like look that sets it apart from other robots of the period.
